“Home-Start Oxford and Bicester is a local charity which supports families with at least one child under five years of age. We have been doing so for over 20 years and in that time have been a lifeline to thousands of families in need.

Our volunteers offer regular support, friendship and practical help to families under stress in their own homes, helping to prevent family crisis and breakdown.

Our goal is a society in which every parent has the support they need to give their children the best possible start in life.

Refer a family by reading this page and then contacting us by email

Become a Home-Start volunteer. Usually a volunteer will make a commitment to visit one family in their home each week for up to 3 hours. The emphasis is on friendship, which would involve sharing difficulties and anxieties or giving practical support.

Become a Trustee or Member of the Management Committee. The management committee comprises of volunteers who are elected annually at the AGM. This committee is responsible for the running of Home-Start Oxford, raising funds and making sure the quality of our service remains high at all times.
