I grew up in Sheffield, and moved to Oxford in the late nineties, for my first job, at Oxfam. I then spent 12 years in London, working for grant-giving charities. Before having my children, I was Director of what is now The London Community Foundation.

I am a mum to a boy and a girl, now 5 and 3, and with my husband we relocated to Oxford in 2013. Having spent a (sometimes stressful) period looking after them full time (managing the move and school transition), I was thinking about what to do next, and was reminded of Home-Start. I had first come across the charity when assessing a grant application from a scheme in Hampshire, and had been really impressed. Over the years, I was struck by how few grant applications we received for parenting support, even though it can have amazing preventative impact.

I was delighted to join the Trustee Board, and hope to use my experience of fundraising and managing a charity, so that we can strengthen and expand our service.
