Home-Start Oxford, Blackbird Leys Youth and Community Centre, Blackbird Leys Road,
Oxford OX4 6HW Company number 5375011 Charity number 1108612
Home-Start Oxford is managed by a group of unpaid volunteers, who are our Charity
Trustees as well as members of our Management Committee. As we are a small organisation
without a paid manager, the Trustees take on responsibility both for overall governance
and for areas of hands-on work such as fundraising and staff supervision.
What our Trustees do
- Hold responsibility for fulfilling the objectives of the charity, and set its overall
direction
- Aim to provide the best possible support for families and to meet Home-Start quality
standards across all our activities
- Set a budget and manage our finances so that the charity remains solvent
- Employ staff, recruit volunteers and make sure they are properly supported and supervised
- Raise funds through contracts, grants and donations
- Make sure that our office systems are efficient and support our work with families
- Ensure compliance with all legal requirements
- Work in partnership with other organisations and uphold the reputation of the charity
- Home-Start Oxford is a member of a federation of Home-Start charities and the trustees
have access to support and advice from our national body.
